As I entered 2023, I had no idea the year would unfold this way - with all the twists and turns, leading to the launch of Unstressified on June 1st. This journey came as a surprise and has led to a month full of excitement, hard work, challenges and countless surprises.

I always knew that my purpose lies in helping others and creating positive change in the world. I have been deeply passionate about my career in education, where impacting transformation on various levels from individual students to school and district levels has been my driving force. In fact, I moved to LA solely with the goal of transforming the public school system.

For quite some time, I have been contemplating different ways to use that same passion and goal to continue to help others transform their lives for the better. I would brainstorm ideas and pursue projects but never follow through due to time constraints.

This year has been really tough for me from the start. I faced some unexpected difficulties, along with a demanding period at work. On top of that, I was in a car accident that caused both emotional trauma and physical injuries. Although my emotional and physical pain was not visible, my life had completely changed. Even simple things like going to work or going out to dinner leaves me completely debilitated and confined to my bed due to the relentless pain and limited mobility. This is far different from the life of working out, socializing and being outdoors that I am used to. This incident comes with the stress of car-related matters and the disappointment of canceling travel plans. Instead of trips to New York to see my family or spending the summer at a yoga retreat on the beautiful island of Ikaria, one of the world’s blue zones located in Greece, I am homebound indefinitely. I was exhausted from trying to resolve each challenge and decided 2023 was not my favorite year.

One evening at dinner, two of my good friends had a heartfelt conversation with me, encouraging me to move forward with my business. Having already enrolled in my certification courses, I took their advice and decided it was time to take action. I outlined a plan and developed the Unstressified Method—a seven-step process I personally designed to guide individuals from a life of stress to a life of well-being through a shift in mindset and practices. This was the perfect time. I was home, laying in bed, and had this great opportunity to use the time to work on the business I had put off for so long. The journey began.

There was so much to learn, from filing for the LLC to creating contracts for clients. I delved into researching and studying topics ranging from color psychology for social media to client outreach strategies. I was lucky to have a good friend support me through many aspects of this new realm. I could confidently discuss anything related to the education world, but this new venture introduced fresh challenges in an unfamiliar territory. Every moment I worked, every new thing I learned, and every problem I solved was energizing and I genuinely loved it.

Reflecting on these 30 incredible days, I have learned some valuable lessons:

  • Shit happens. It’s ok to feel upset but our reactions define us. Accept situations and know things will be ok. The universe will have our back.

  • Believe in yourself. Challenges, criticism and doubt may come, but self-belief conquers all obstacles.

  • Embrace risk-taking. The first step is the hardest, but it leads to remarkable possibilities. Don't sit in fear or the complacency of life. That first step is everything.

  • Cultivate a growth mindset. Stay humble, continuously learn, be resourceful, seek help, and expand your horizons. Discomfort is a good thing and means you're growing.

  • Surround yourself with supportive individuals. Ensure that your crew inspires, uplifts, and encourages each other. Their influence supports your success.

  • Stay true to yourself. Know yourself, your values, and your purpose. Integrate them into all aspects of your life. Be authentic to yourself and to the world.

  • Enjoy the process. Find joy in learning, problem-solving, and doing the work. It's not just about the destination, it’s about loving every moment.

  • Everything happens for a reason. I used to hate that cliche but I firmly believe in it now. This journey would never have happened if my life continued as normal. Whatever the circumstances are, know in your heart the universe is always conspiring to make something wonderful happen for you.

This last month has been a wild ride and I cannot predict where this journey will lead but I am excited. The horizon is filled with meditations, retreats, workshops, coaching conversations, interviews, and guest appearances, all of which are great opportunities. The best moments come from connecting with people and witnessing their transformation from experiencing insurmountable stress to achieving improved well-being. It's when someone embraces they can and will have a life that is happier and healthier, that I am left fulfilled and smiling.

So Happy One Month Birthday to Unstressified! May there be countless more months ahead, impacting infinite lives along the way.
